Must Try Guerlain Products
Tiaras and Trotters
Once upon a time I was lucky to receive a Guerlain treatment and makeover. I was complaining to the makeup artist about how chapped my lips were and how terrible the winters in Chicago can be for my lips. He recommended the Divinora Lip Balm and I have been using it religiously ever since. It goes on like a thick layer of protection and it is incredibly effective. If you have dry chapped lips you must try this!

Guerlain Orchidee Imperiale Eye and Lip Contour is rich and decadent. I went to a spa a few months back where I got a facial. They did some skin analysis and told me that the area around my eye is aging faster than most people my age. I think perhaps it is because I squint quite a lot. This serves as a great excuse to indulge in luxurious eye creams and designer sunglasses. I have tried many and this is definitely one of my favorites!

Red Dresses On The Red Carpet
Tiaras and Trotters
Watching the red carpet I was really impressed with Anne Hathaway. While red dresses were ubiquitous, Anne truly stood out in her red dress. In a sea of spray tans, Anne stayed true to herself. She looked so elegant and classically beautiful. I love her dress, I love her hair, I love her makeup and I love her skin. She looked absolutely gorgeous. It is also refreshing that she has distanced herself from the bad behavior of the young Hollywood "It" girls. She is the perfect choice for the face of a Lancome perfume, don't you think?Wednesday, February 20, 2008

Rocker Hearts
Tiaras and Trotters
I know that some people think it is a total waste of money to pay for manicures and pedicures, but it is totally worth it for me. I can't paint my own nails without slopping and sloshing the varnish everywhere; plus I love the feeling of being pampered. Then I get a quick shoulder and back massage while I wait for my nails to dry. Bliss...Pure Bliss!
This last week I considered going for navy, but I shied away in the end. It felt too trendy and not in a I'm fashion forward way. It felt more I'm trendy in a "I'm trying too hard" way. I have seen some girls wearing it and it looks great, but I just couldn't do it. I guess I still remember buying a set of three polishes from the GAP when I was in middle school that had navy blue, green, and purple. (Yes that's right at the GAP. Surprising I know, but true.)
I found a fashion forward nail that I think is cute and fashion forward and I am a little shocked that I like it so much. Look at the super cute rocker hearts on the nails from the Jayson Brunsdon Autumn/Winter Collection. Normally hearts look cute and adolescent (in a Juicy Couture track suit way) and not high fashion. However, the Jayson Brusdon look actually comes off looking romantic, fashion-forward, and rocker- chic. (I think the smoky eyes and finger-less gloves help to make the rocker hearts). I could see Serena rocking this look on Gossip Girl....What do you think? Is it wearable?

The Miracle Potion That Is Moroccan Oil
Tiaras and Trotters
I went to a trade show last year and found a miracle product. I had been walking around for hours and my feet and shoulders were aching from lugging around products and press kits. I was having a terrible hair day and all I wanted to do was sit down. That is when I was beckoned over to experience the amazing transformational power of Moroccan Oil. I have to admit the only reason why I agreed to let him use me as his guniea pig was because it involved me sitting down and having someone else try and tame my frizzy, dry, ridiculously unmanagable hair. The result? Smooth, shiny hair that looked like I just walked out of a salon, or a Pantene commercial, which ever fits. So, why wait so long to share? The bottle got lost and I stumbled upon it again today. It was easy to forget because unfortunately they are running a small operation and it isn't as readily available as one would wish. Anyway, try it. You won't regret it!
